– Preparation (Pulsed Laser Deposition and Electron Beam Deposition) and characterization (SEM-EDS, AFM, X-ray Diffraction, FTIR, Hardness measurements) of various films:
(a) hard and superhard coatings for technological applications - carbides, borides;
(b) biocompatible and bioactive coatings used for biomedical applications (orthopaedic and dental implants).
– Biocements for various applications in medicine (bones surgery and dentistry).
– Bioactive glass ceramics as coatings, porous scaffolds and injectable cements: effect of their ions on the genomic control of the cells behavior.
– Use of nanoparticles of hydroxyapatite and substituted hydroxyapatite in newly developed dentifrices and cosmetics.
